MarksNelson Only KC Accounting Firm Named One of Top Accounting Firms in Midwest

March 20, 2018

4th Consecutive Year Accounting Today Bestowed Prestigious Honor on KC’s Largest Locally Owned Accounting Firm

For the fourth consecutive year, Accounting Today has named MarksNelson LLC  to its prestigious list of top accounting firms in the Midwest. It is once again the only Kansas City area firm included.

MarksNelson also recently was awarded Inavero’s Best of Accounting™ Award for Client Satisfaction and was named to the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing businesses.

As MarksNelson celebrates its 50th anniversary, Kansas City’s largest locally owned accounting firm has taken bold, innovative steps to spur growth and broaden client services.

The accounting and business advisory firm broke new ground in January by adding a high-level technology development division to help businesses use technology to succeed in dynamic new ways. The new technology division crafts custom technology solutions to solve clients’ problems and leverages data to help businesses make smart decisions. In addition, MarksNelson has launched an Entrepreneurial Services practice offering unique accounting and finance services designed to dramatically reduce the time small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) nationwide spend on bookkeeping and finances so they can focus on growing their businesses.

“Listening to our clients and enhancing services has led to loyal, longstanding clients with whom we maintain constant contact,” says MarksNelson Managing Partner Mark Radetic. “We believe that it sets us apart and is the reason that -- for the fourth year in a row -- we’ve been the only Kansas City firm named to Accounting Today’s list of top accounting firms in the Midwest.”

MarksNelson offers both traditional and consultative services as well as an unprecedented number of niche services for a firm its size.

In addition to adding high-level niche expertise in technology and entrepreneurial services, MarksNelson has acquired a firm with business location and economic development incentives expertise, another with real estate expertise, gained certification for business exit planning, expanded its Foreign Trade Zone expertise, added Enterprise Resource Solutions, and more.

“We are constantly looking for opportunities to add services that allow our clients to be more profitable, efficient and productive,” says Radetic. “Our goal is to continue to fuel growth through innovation, as we move forward our clients, professionals, and community.”

As part of its commitment to its professionals, MarksNelson has focused on providing staff with quality of life and a formal program offering diverse opportunities for personal growth and success.

MarksNelson’s multi-award-winning community outreach program, Marks of Kindness, uses innovative, creative methods to encourage employees to personally get involved in moving the community forward. What really sets Marks of Kindness apart is that it isn’t just about fundraising but about employees getting involved and personally doing something that makes an impact. For instance, its Wrapped in Warmth program provided more than 2,000 scarves, hats, and gloves for the homeless last winter.

MarksNelson has won numerous awards for its business stewardship, customer service, support of women in the workplace, and community outreach program. Accounting Today previously named Managing Partner Mark Radetic one of its “2014 MP Elite,” the top 10 managing partners of U.S. accounting firms.

At MarksNelson, we pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation and technology. This fuels our professionals' drive to work with you, not for you - bringing comprehensive and innovative solutions to the conversation and helping remove uncertainty from the outcome. >>> READ MORE
